The technology records gaze patterns, dwell time, and the sequence of visual attention as the student works through the pump's menu. Early findings suggest that certain screen layouts cause confusion, especially when the user has to toggle between multiple windows to confirm dosage rates. One researcher noted that experienced nurses often develop workarounds for these issues, but novices get stuck or make mistakes.

By mapping the visual path, the team can identify which buttons or prompts are missed entirely. This data gives manufacturers concrete evidence for redesigning interfaces.
