Several committee leaders have said they want to see the fund replenished, though they disagree on the exact amount and whether agencies should have to pay back the money through their own budgets. The White House has backed a larger request, arguing that the upfront investment prevents much bigger bills later. With the current funds nearly committed, the next few months will decide whether the momentum continues or stalls again.
