American Airlines experienced a brief disruption on Tuesday morning due to a vendor technology issue that resulted in a temporary ground stop for its flights. The problem, which affected operations for several hours, prompted the airline to halt all takeoffs and landings.
Following swift action to resolve the issue, American Airlines was able to lift the ground stop and resume normal flight operations. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) also lifted its ground stop, allowing flights to proceed as scheduled.
Data from Flightaware indicated that a total of 26 flights were impacted, both within the United States and on international routes. Passengers were advised to check their flight status for any potential delays or changes resulting from the outage.
American Airlines has not provided specific details about the nature of the technology issue but has assured customers that the situation was promptly addressed, allowing for a return to normal operations.
