Barton College recently celebrated the achievements of 18 students who completed the Medical Laboratory Technology program and earned their Associate of Applied Science degrees in May. The graduates were recognized during a special ceremony that highlighted their dedication and the critical role they will play in healthcare.
Medical laboratory technicians are essential members of the healthcare team, performing tests that help doctors diagnose and treat diseases. The program at Barton provides hands-on training in areas like clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and blood banking. Students spend time in both classroom settings and real laboratory environments, learning to operate sophisticated equipment and analyze patient samples accurately.
The ceremony included remarks from faculty and program directors, who praised the graduates for their hard work during a demanding course of study. Several students were also recognized for academic excellence and clinical performance. Many of the new graduates have already secured positions at hospitals and clinics across the region, stepping into a field that continues to see strong demand for skilled workers.
Barton's Medical Laboratory Technology program is designed to prepare students for national certification exams and immediate entry into the workforce. The college plans to welcome a new cohort of students this fall.
