audi's 1,001-horsepower 'nuvolari' supercar is inspired by formula 1 technology

Audi has unveiled a new flagship supercar named after the legendary Italian racing driver Tazio Nuvolari, translating cutting-edge Formula 1 engineering into a road-legal hybrid machine. The model, simply called the Nuvolari, delivers a staggering 1,001 horsepower from a powertrain that combines a high-revving internal combustion engine with an advanced electric motor system.

The design philosophy borrows directly from Audi's Formula 1 program, focusing on lightweight materials, active aerodynamics, and energy recovery systems. The car uses a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis to keep weight down while maximizing structural rigidity. Under the hood, a twin-turbocharged V8 works in tandem with a compact electric motor that provides instant torque and can boost acceleration out of corners. The hybrid system also allows for a short all-electric range, making the Nuvolari usable for city driving or low-emission zones.

Audi engineers have emphasized that the Nuvolari is not just about raw power. The car features a sophisticated torque-vectoring system and adaptive suspension tuned for both track performance and daily comfort. The interior is driver-focused, with a digital cockpit that displays telemetry data inspired by F1 steering wheels. Only 333 units will be built, each priced well into the seven-figure range. Deliveries are expected to begin in late 2025, with Audi positioning the Nuvolari as a direct competitor to hybrid hypercars from Ferrari and McLaren.
