Valstone announced it has acquired Nascent Technology, a move that deepens the company's push into the industrial transportation technology space. The deal adds a suite of software tools designed to help railroads, ports, and terminal operators handle the complicated logistics of moving intermodal freight across North America.
Nascent, founded in 1996 and based in Charlotte, North Carolina, brings products like SYNAPSE AGS, enVision, and Orca to Valstone's portfolio. These systems are used to manage terminal operations, from tracking cargo to coordinating the flow of trucks and trains at major freight hubs. The acquisition fits Valstone's broader strategy of building out a unified technology platform for the industrial transportation sector, an area where efficiency gains are often tied directly to software improvements.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to close in the coming weeks, pending standard regulatory approvals. Valstone said Nascent's team will join the company and continue operating from its Charlotte office.
