Halozyme Therapeutics has entered into an exclusive global collaboration and license agreement with Oruka Therapeutics, focused on the development of a new drug candidate called ORKA-001. The partnership will leverage Halozyme's proprietary Hypercon technology, a platform designed to improve the delivery and stability of biologic medicines.
Under the terms of the agreement, Oruka will take the lead on developing ORKA-001, while Halozyme provides access to its Hypercon platform. The technology is intended to enhance the pharmacokinetic properties of therapeutic proteins, potentially allowing for less frequent dosing and improved patient outcomes. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, but the collaboration is structured around development and commercial milestones, along with tiered royalties on future sales.
This marks a strategic move for both companies. For Halozyme, it expands the reach of its Hypercon platform beyond its existing pipeline. For Oruka, the deal provides a validated technology to accelerate a promising candidate toward clinical trials. The agreement covers worldwide rights, with both firms committing to shared oversight of early-stage development work. Industry observers see this as a sign of growing interest in drug delivery technologies that can extend the half-life of complex biologics.
