HyperSphere Technologies has made its data protection software available to commercial users through the AWS Marketplace. The company's Data Neutralization Appliance, previously used mainly in military and defense settings, is now offered as an Amazon Machine Image for businesses that need to secure unstructured data stored in AWS or other S3-compatible systems.
The technology works by neutralizing sensitive information at the storage level, which means it can render data unreadable without destroying its usability for authorized applications. This approach is different from traditional encryption or tokenization, as it focuses on the data's structure and context rather than just scrambling the content. For organizations that deal with large volumes of files, logs, or backups, this can be a practical way to reduce the risk of exposure without slowing down operations.
HyperSphere says the move to AWS Marketplace is meant to simplify deployment for cloud teams. Instead of building custom integrations or managing separate hardware, users can launch the appliance directly from their AWS console. The software is also designed to work with existing S3-compatible storage, so it can be used in hybrid setups where some data stays on-premises.
The company expects the offering to appeal to sectors like healthcare, finance, and government contractors, where data privacy rules are strict and audits are common. By making the technology available through a standard cloud catalog, HyperSphere hopes to cut down the time it takes for customers to get started with data neutralization. Pricing and trial options are available directly through the AWS Marketplace listing.
